I am ready for the hair removal. How does the process work?

The process is straightforward. At your initial visit, our physician will discuss with you your previous treatment history followed by an assessment of your skin condition. Each hair removal treatment typically lasts between 30-40 minutes. The treatment is repeated after 2-4 weeks.

Is the treatment painful?

During the treatment, you may experience a mild sensation similar to tiny pinpricks or light tingling. Any slight discomfort can be minimised with the application of soothing gel by our physician. In addition, the device delivers energy in a randomised spray pattern, helping to further enhance comfort throughout the session.

What should I expect after the hair removal treatment?

To avoid possible side effects, all patients need to protect their skin from the sun. After hair removal treatment, you should:

• Avoid direct sunlight from hitting your treated skin.
• Not use a tanning bed, sun lamp, or any other indoor tanning equipment.
• Follow your therapist after-care instructions.
• You will see some redness and swelling after treatment. This often looks like a mild sunburn. Applying aloe vera gel can help reduce your discomfort.

How many treatments will I need?

You may need to be treated from 3-5 times at intervals of 2-8 weeks. There are three (3) phases of hair growth – anagen, catagen, and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth phase; anagen, can be successfully treated.

Can in-grown hair be treated?

The infrared energy delivered by this treatment effectively removes all types of body hair. Even when shaving bumps temporarily cover the hair follicles, the penetrating light can still safely target and treat the area.
